MY STORY
Meet Jason DellaValle
YOUTH PERSONAL TRAINER & NUTRITION COACH WITH A BACKGROUND IN SPECIAL NEEDS
Located in NW, DC
I’m Coach Jason and I made fitness fun for kids. Here’s a little background on how I did it.
Like a lot of kids, I struggled to enjoy sports. I kept up physically but had a hard time connecting and making friends.
My real love of movement came in college when I discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and martial arts.
I didn’t just learn a set of moves. I learned how to move.
Martial arts gave me teammates and coaches without the anxiety of competition. Training keeps me grounded and regulates my stress.
After college, I started working house-to-house and in two private schools for kids with special needs. For 7 years, I studied how to help kids replace bad habits with new skills.
By 2017, I burned out, quit the school system, and founded Adaptive Movement. I became one of the only personal trainers focused on helping kids who aren’t athletes.
Then the world shut down in 2020 leaving kids isolated and stuck inside all day.
Screen time is higher than ever and some kids just don’t want to play sports.
That’s why I created Live Action Fitness: a new kind of role-playing game which combines movement with the action adventure of Dungeons and Dragons.
Now I have the greatest job in the world helping kids build their character, get moving, and level up!
